Rossignol headquarters.

Abel Rossignol founded this company in 1907 and has constantly evolved. When Hérault Arnod Architectes entered the competition to build a new Rossignol headquarters in the French village of Saint-Jean-de-Moirans, were sure about one thing: They weren't going to design a standard office building. They wanted everyone (administration and manufacture) under the same roof.

The building is next to the Lyon-Grenoble highway; a tollbooth is just 100 yards away. Still, there are spectacular alpine views on either side. As inspiration for the form of the building, they looked at those summits and slopes. The final shape also closely resembles the outstretched wings of a bird.

The roof sweeps up from the ground at the back of the building to crest in the middle, then gently curve back down. And the virtues of this are not only aesthetic. The central rise acts as an acoustical barrier, protecting the staff café's roof terrace, in front, from the noise of highway traffic.

Inspiring song for an emotional Monday.

I'm really sensitive today and I wanted to share a beautiful song that I really like. It's called Forever Girl by the awesome band Forever the sickest kids.

The lyrics are amazing!

Memories of Paris.

Last weekend I went to the cinema. I had heard some good reviews of the new Woody Allen’s film “Midnight in Paris” and wanted to check it out myself. I’m not going to say a word, in case someone hasn’t seen it yet, it’s just fabulous!

When I got home I started thinking about the whole story and remembered the times I’ve been to the City of Light. I’ve been there five times; the first one was when I was less than two years old and I went with my mum and grandma to visit my dad, who was there for bussiness. I also went there when I was 9, 14 and 16 years old. The last time was two Christmas ago, when I was 21; my French family (my dad’s mother is from Paris) was hosting a party. I really like this city, each time I’ve found more and more interesting places to visit and it has a special harmony.

And that’s the reason I’m posting these amazing photos of Paris. I was looking through Flickr the other day, and came across this French guy who has stunning pictures of this gorgeous city. I’ve selected some of my favourite pics. His name is Adrien and this is his Flick and his website.
