Dear Ikea.

I have to say it: I'm a huge Ikea fan. Not only for their prices, but for their design and style. I really love it!
Last week I received the 2012 Ikea catalogue and I think I've flicked through it more than 20 times!
I've picked some of the best (old and new) items, in my opinion, that I'd really love to have in my living room.

Poäng armchair, Stockholm side table, Stockholm pouffe.

Bräda laptop support, Flört pocket.

Olunda picture, PS clock, Trådig bowl, Livat vase.

Förhöja wall cabinet, Bestå wall cabinet (with glass doors).

All pictures from Ikea.

Wooden pallet tables for everyone.

I'm loving this type of coffee tables. There are lots of images to get inspired from: white painted or natural; table top glass or not, decorated or not... You just have to "adjust" it with the decoration of the space. Amazing and easy to do!

White tables: 1, 2, 3
Natural: 4
Glass on top: 5, 6, 7
Decorated: 8 and 9

Sun and design.

This weekend I went to an exhibition of outdoor furniture by Paola Lenti.
There were plenty of awesome sofas, armchairs, chaise longues, poufs... upholstered with Aquatech and Rope (resistant to UV rays and water). They had designs for every situation. I loved them!

Easy Edges.

Frank O. Gehry designed a series of furniture designs called “Easy Edges” from 1969 to 1973, altough not all the pieces have been manufactured. These designs are made of multiple layers of corrugated cardboard (in alternate directions) assembled with hidden screws. To make it more durable the edges are covered with fibreboard.

Probably the most famous piece of the whole collection is the wiggle side chair (also with coloured-fibreboard edgings) because of its characteristic shape.

Low table, side tables and daisy coffee table.

Wiggle stool and  R bar stool.

Rocking chair.

Lounge chair with ottoman.

The use of this material is a really good idea; it’s cheap, lightweight, and easy to make different shapes. It’s quite surprising that a material such as cardboard is able to bear us.
